The OACIQ Certification Department manages licence holder’s files. This Department issues, revokes, suspends a licence and lifts a licence suspension as well as updating brokers’ information. The OACIQ examinations are also administered and managed by this Department.

Validity following the implementation of Bill 188
On June 20, the National Assembly approved Bill 188, an Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services (1998, Chapter 37). The date for the full implementation of the Act was not yet known at press time. Sections 542 and 553 of Bill 188 raise a serious doubt as to the future rights of holders of certificates of brokers or agents restricted to loans secured by immovable hypothec issued by the ACAIQ after June 20, 1998.
