Return of the mandatory basic training: Important information for candidates
In an effort to enhance brokers’ skills and address the concerns of real estate professionals, any candidate wishing to take the OACIQ certification exam as of September 1, 2013 must have previously taken and passed a basic training program recognized by the OACIQ.

A supplementary Guarantee
The Fonds d'indemnisation du courtage immobilier works independently of the Association. It is administered by a board composed of seven people appointed by the government, unlike the Association Board for which the majority of directors are elected by members. For purely administrative reasons, the Fund has an agreement with the ACAIQ under which the latter provides certain resources necessary for its operation.

Chair of the committee
Me André Desgagné is the chairman of the Discipline Committee, and Me Gilles Duchesne is the substitute chairman. Both were appointed in 1995 for three-year mandates, which were renewed in 1998. The chairman and substitute chairman of the Discipline Committee must be lawyers with at least ten years of practice. They must be specialists in the disciplinary law and are responsible for ensuring compliance with proper procedure in each hearing and for ruling on the guilt of the defendant with two other members of the committee, who are real estate brokers or agents.
