Regulatory amendments in residential and commercial real estate brokerage
Further to the adoption of Bill 141 in 2018, the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ), in collaboration with the Ministère des Finances, began work to update the regulations.
Following the usual regulatory adoption process, which included a consultation held by the government last August, the final regulations were published in the Gazette officielle du Québec on March 8, 2023 and came into force on March 23, 2023.
Regulatory changes to real estate brokerage
The amending regulations related to real estate brokerage were published in the Gazette officielle du Québec on March 8, 2023. The changes to the regulations will come into force on March 23, 2023. These amendments were previously subject to a consultation held by the government in August 2022, in accordance with the usual regulatory adoption process.

Inspection: An equally essential step for homes still under warranty
Most buyers who are interested in a home or condominium that is more than five years old will strongly consider a home inspection as part of their purchase process. However, when the desired property is a home that is less than five years old, some buyers prefer to save the cost of an inspection, believing that the risks are lower because the building is "still under warranty.”
Upcoming changes to the taxation of profits from real estate flipping
