How to obtain an anticipated opinion from the LIMC
Interested in the profession, but not sure if you meet the OACIQ’s requirements? Request an opinion from the Licence Issue and Maintenance Committee (LIMC)!
Studying while not knowing if you can get a licence, due to a specific profile, is a sensitive issue. That’s why the LIMC offers aspiring real estate or mortgage brokers the opportunity to seek an opinion before even starting their training.
Here’s the procedure:
- First, make sure you read and follow the instructions described in the document Instructions for obtaining an opinion from the Licence Issue and Maintenance Committee.
- Then complete the form application for obtaining an opinion from the licence issue and maintenance committee.
Note that the anticipated opinion is not a decision within the meaning of the Real Estate Brokerage Act. Therefore, you have no right to appeal this opinion.
The committee may re-examine your case when a licence issuance application is submitted. It will then render a decision based on the facts presented and circumstances prevailing at that time. This means that in some cases, the final decision could differ from the preliminary opinion issued.
