The future of public protection starts here!

Protecting your real estate and mortgage transactions is essential and can be planned! The OACIQ submitted a brief in response to the Report on the application of the Real Estate Brokerage Act published last June, five years after the coming into force of the Act, as provided for therein.

In its brief, the Organization responded to all issues raised by the Minister. The OACIQ explained, among other things, why it is essential that the Minister clarify the definition of a brokerage activity so that consumers know when they are protected and when they are not in a real estate or mortgage transaction. In addition, the OACIQ showed why its governance model based on self-regulation must be maintained. The Organization also took a stance on the importance of regulating building inspection and co-ownership property management for public protection.
