Maintaining your acquired rights or returning to practice
What are acquired rights?
Acquired rights allow a person whose real estate broker’s licence has been revoked for less than 12 months to return to practice without having to complete a basic training program again, if applicable, and pass an OACIQ certification examination.1
Your licence was revoked on April 30, 2025?
You must choose between maintaining your acquired rights or returning to practice.
IMPORTANT:
If no request is made within the specified period to maintain the acquired rights, they will be permanently lost.
The person will then have to retake the entire basic training program and pass the OACIQ exam to obtain a new real estate brokerage licence.

This option is for individuals who do not wish to return to practice immediately but wish to maintain their acquired rights for another year.
