Following the launching of the Ubee platform, the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) would like to remind real estate brokerage licensees that all their professional obligations apply when using any information listing and advertising service.
In particular, real estate brokers have regulatory and legislative obligations regarding identity verification, verification of information provided to the public, mandatory statements and record keeping.
The OACIQ supports innovation and will ensure that the operations of the platform comply with all laws and regulations applicable to real estate brokerage.
The OACIQ's sole mission is to protect members of the public who enlist the services of real estate brokerage professionals governed by the Real Estate Brokerage Act. The OACIQ thus implements the protections provided by the Real Estate Brokerage Act when a real estate broker is involved in a transaction.
