NOTICE OF SUSPENSION OF
ALI BASSAM’S LICENCE (H3217)

Be advised that on November 10, 2025, the OACIQ Discipline Committee ordered that the real estate broker’s licence of Mr. Ali Bassam, whose establishment is located in Montréal, be suspended from December 29, 2025, to October 24, 2026, for committing the following offences:

Count 1: On or about December 3, 2020, as part of a promise to purchase, sent a mortgage undertaking letter supposedly from Scotiabank to the real estate broker, while he knew or could not have been unaware that it was a forgery.

Count 2: On or about December 8, 2020, as part of a promise to purchase, sent a mortgage pre-approval letter supposedly from CIBC to the real estate broker, while he knew or could not have been unaware that it was a forgery.

Count 3: On or about December 24, 2020, as part of a promise to purchase, sent a mortgage undertaking letter supposedly from Scotiabank to the real estate broker, while he knew or could not have been unaware that it was a forgery.

Count 4: On or about April 20, 2021, as part of a promise to purchase, sent a mortgage undertaking letter supposedly from the Bank of Montreal to the real estate broker, while he knew or could not have been unaware that it was a forgery.

Count 5: Concerning an immovable located in Saint-Constant, while he knew or could not have been unaware that it was a forgery, sent a mortgage pre-approval letter supposedly from the lender Mortgage Alliance to the real estate broker (a) on or abound April 18, 2021, as part of a promise to purchase, and (b) on or abound April 19, 2021, as part of a promise to purchase.

Count 6: On or about May 5, 2021, as part of a promise to purchase, sent a mortgage undertaking letter supposedly from the Bank of Montreal to the real estate broker, while he knew or could not have been unaware that it was a forgery.

Count 7: As of June 12, 2024, hindered the investigation conducted by the Assistant Syndic by failing to forward all the requested documents and information.
