NOTICE OF A LICENCE SUSPENSION
NOTICE is hereby given that Thérèse Riendeau, real estate broker, licence No. B3510, whose establishment is located in Saint-Sauveur, has been found guilty by the OACIQ Discipline Committee of the offences summarized below:
Count 1: As of or around November 22, 2006, in the course of a real estate transaction, used her real estate agent status to obtain a loan of $7,000 from the prospective buyer.
Count 2: As of or around November 22, 2006, on two occasions, failed to respect the confidentiality of clients’ personal information collected in the course of her activities, and used such information by sending to the prospective buyer a promise to purchase and its annex A as well as a bank mortgage approval letter on December 8, 2006, concerning an immovable.
Count 4: As of or around December 10, 2007, when selling a property, used her real estate agent status to obtain a loan of $3,000 from the seller.
Count 5: As of June 2009, as part of an investigation conducted by the Assistant Syndic:
a) Between June 8, 2009 and June 11, 2009, failed to respond to the Assistant Syndic’s request to call him back after visiting her doctor to arrange a new meeting;
b) From the time of sending a letter dated June 25, 2009, failed to respond to the Assistant Syndic before June 30, 2009 to provide him with a new meeting date and send him, as requested, a written notice confirming the reason she had cancelled their meeting of June 23, 2009;
c) Between July 16, 2009 and July 23, 2009, failed to respond to the Assistant Syndic’s request to send him a letter from her doctor justifying her inability to attend the meeting of July 16, 2009;
d) On or around July 28, 2009, failed to respond to the Assistant Syndic’s letter of July 23, 2009 requiring her to send him, within five days, a letter from her doctor justifying her inability to attend the meeting of July 16, 2009.
On July 24, 2018, the Court of Québec confirmed the decision of the Discipline Committee that ordered the suspension of Mrs Thérèse Riendeau’s licence No. B3510 for a period of 3 years and 180 days, effective August 6, 2018.
This notice is given in accordance with section 33 of the Regulation respecting the issue of broker’s and agency licences(R.R.Q., c. C-73.2, r.3).
