NOTICE OF SUSPENSION
OF THE LICENCE OF MRS. CAROLINE CÔTÉ
NOTICE is hereby given that Mrs. Caroline Côté, real estate broker (Licence No. D8972), whose establishment is located in Brossard, has been found guilty by the Discipline Committee of the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) of the offence summarized below:
1st count: On or around August 26, 2009, as part of steps undertaken to obtain financing secured by immovable hypothec for the purchase of an immovable, sending or allowing the sending of false documents and inaccurate information to a financial institution in support of the financing application, whereas she did not obtain these documents or this information from the buyer concerned, and/or omitting or neglecting to have the validity of these documents confirmed by the buyer or by the alleged issuers of the said documents;
thus committing an offence under section 13 of the Rules of Professional Ethics of the ACAIQ.
On March 28, 2012, the Discipline Committee ordered a suspension of Mrs. Caroline Côté’s real estate broker’s licence for a period of sixty (60) days on count No. 1 of the complaint, to be served as of the date of the appeals deadline if the defendant is the holder of a licence issued by the OACIQ or, if not, whenever she becomes a licence holder again
The suspension of Mrs. Caroline Côté’s real estate broker’s licence is effective as of May 3, 2012 for a period of sixty (60) days.
This notice is given in accordance with section 98.1 of the Real Estate Brokerage Act (R.S.Q., c. C-73.2) and section 33 of the Regulation respecting the issue of broker’s and agency licences (R.R.Q., c. C-73.2, r.3).
