NOTICE OF SUSPENSION OF
MRS. HÉLÈNE DESROCHERS’ LICENCE
NOTICE is hereby given that Hélène Desrochers, real estate broker (Licence No. B8451), whose establishment is located in Granby, has been found guilty by the Discipline Committee of the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) of the offences summarized below:
Count 1: In Québec, on or around September 2, 2005, October 19, 2006, November 2, 2006, March 27, 2006 and September 2 or 13, 2006, abused the trust of 5 people, while she had known them or had been introduced to them in her capacity as a real estate agent, by borrowing amounts of money from them under false representations, notably to the effect that the amounts of money borrowed would be invested in real estate transactions, and by not respecting the commitments she had undertaken regarding the reimbursement terms of sums of money borrowed;
Count 2: On or around January 14, 2011, as part of an investigation conducted by the Assistant Syndic, falsely told the investigator: “I confirm that all my debts are personal and I have never involved my work in any way whatsoever (sic) to obtain loans.”
On March 20, 2015, the Discipline Committee ordered, concerning counts Nos. 1 and 2 of the formal complaint, the suspension of Hélène Desrochers’ real estate broker licence (Licence No. B8451) for periods totalling five (5) years and one (1) month, effective as of April 24, 2015.
This notice is given in accordance with section 33 of the Regulation respecting the issue of broker’s and agency licences (R.R.Q., c. C-73.2, r.3).
