The OACIQ Discipline Committee
provisionally
suspends
Yassine Chentoufi’s real estate broker’s licence

Brossard, August 23, 2023 – The Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) has obtained a provisional suspension of Yassine Chentoufi’s real estate broker’s licence.

The OACIQ Syndic argued that he had enough evidence that Yassine Chentoufi appropriated the approximate sum of $231,290 from companies specialized in remuneration advances. He allegedly set up a fraudulent scheme to simulate 11 false real estate transactions, in which property owners and nominees were involved without their knowledge by means of forged signatures and false documents. Between November 2022 and March 2023, Yassine Chentoufi allegedly performed these acts personally and through his company Yassine Chentoufi Courtier Immobilier Inc.

Therefore, at the OACIQ Syndic’s request, the Discipline Committee – an autonomous and independent entity of the OACIQ created under the Real Estate Brokerage Act – ordered the provisional suspension of Mr. Chentoufi’s licence, an exceptional measure, since the offences allegedly committed are of such a nature that the protection of the public would be compromised if he continued his real estate brokerage activities. Mr. Chentoufi can no longer perform any real estate brokerage acts, such as soliciting clients or showing properties. He must not have any brokerage contracts in force or use the real estate broker title until a final decision is rendered by the Discipline Committee. Yassine Chentoufi could face sanctions up to and including a permanent suspension.
